Expanding from UT to phased array – where to buy without overpaying?

Hello colleagues! We’ve been doing conventional ultrasonic testing for years, mostly in fabrication shops, but recently more clients are requesting phased array inspections. I’ve been researching equipment options, and honestly the price range is huge. Some brands are way beyond our budget, while others seem suspiciously cheap. I’m trying to find a supplier that offers modern phased array systems but also provides technical consultation and maybe training materials. I don’t want to invest in something complicated without proper support. Has anyone recently upgraded their setup and can share where they bought from and whether the after-sales service was actually helpful?

Great question — switching to phased array is a big step, both technically and financially. We upgraded about eight months ago, and after long comparisons we chose ndt equipment
What convinced us was their approach: they discussed our workload, materials we inspect, and thickness ranges before recommending a specific phased array system. They also explained probe compatibility and future scalability, which showed they know the industry, not just sales. Pricing was reasonable compared to big-name distributors, and we didn’t feel like we were paying just for a brand logo. After purchase, they stayed in touch and helped us with initial setup questions. If you’re worried about overpaying or lacking support, I’d say it’s worth contacting them and seeing what they propose.

Appreciate your insight, that sounds exactly like the kind of supplier we’re looking for!
