Hey guys,
Quick question for anyone doing weld inspections. How do you measure ferrite content or crack depth on-site? We usually send samples to a lab, but it’s time-consuming and expensive. I’ve been told there are portable devices now that can measure ferrite and even assess crack depth directly. Are those really reliable?

Absolutely. We faced the same problem when inspecting duplex stainless steel welds. We started using ferrite meters and crack depth meters from https://teqto.pro/ and they’ve made our workflow much faster. The ferrite readings are consistent with lab spectrometer results, and the crack depth tool gives real-time data without any surface damage. We even used them for corrosion assessment in heat-affected zones — worked like a charm. If you want to save time and still keep precision, that’s the way to go.

Sounds great! Thanks for the tip — portable is exactly what we need.
